Balmain Homme Fall 2011

Freja for Isabel Marant

Vancouver Riots

I was up in Vancouver during the Stanley Cup Finals, during which I got boo'd (loudly) out of a train station (I was rocking my Bruins gear), and got shoved in my hotel lobby by some random guy. Really classy, I know. I was surprised by Vancouver's reaction, I just pegged Canadians for being really nice & peaceful people. Which I think they are. Ish just got crraaaazy. Kind of laughable, really.

Here's a pretty rad 360 look at all the schenanigans.

Lady Gaga - Google Chrome ad

Queen of Social Media x King of the web. Kinda cool how much interaction fans & artists can have have each other in this digital age.

Chamo San: Moleskin sketches

Lovely moleskin sketches by Barcelona-based illustrator Chamo San. I often prefer an artist's sketchbook over any framed or mounted piece of "finished" work one might typically see at a museum or gallery. Sketches just seem more honest and personal, and I like that they're not so polished and showy. They're just effortlessly beautiful. No need for some grandiose display.

Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - US Trailer

FINALLY, the US trailer. Phew, it seems that Hollywood has managed not to butcher the magic of Girl. It looks delightfully badass. Loving Karen O & Trent Reznor's creeptastic rendition of the Immigrant Song. On a side-note, one of the reasons I am rooting for the continued popularity of this book/movie series is because I hope 'Lisbeth' becomes a well-known name. It would be a massive relief if people mistook my name for Lisbeth -- versus Elizabeth, Ellespeth, Elsmeth, Alice, ElseWHAT?!

A look inside Nike CEO Mark Parker's office

I've been lucky enough to visit Nike CEO Mark Parker's office, and it is F*CKING RAD. (yes, profanities most definitely necessary). Here are some images shot by Steve Bensity. You really gotta respect any coporate CEO with passions and interests for art, music, culture, and sports -- or at least I do! What was the kicker for me was the Sebastian Kruger portrait of Keith Richards behind Mark's desk. DROOL.
